With summer officially started, I feel like I have neglected all of you

I apologize!

We have been doing some crafting...

finishing up the soccer season..

and having squirt gun fights!

We have been soaking up the sun and enjoying the kids being home from school

Our summer movies have started, books are being read and we will soon check out the bowling alley and many other fun activities!

Hope you are all enjoying your summer too.

Freedom

Here are the girls on their very first day of Kindergarten and 3rd Grade....

back in August

Kaiden was scared but excited

Sophie couldn't wait to see her friends again

Just a blink later and the school year is done

Sophie is a big 4th grader now. She's growing her hair so she can donate it to cancer patients.

She has a mind of her own and an attitude to go with it.

She has become quite the reader and loves science

Kaiden is now in 1st grade! She has learned reading and math.

She has some new friends that I know she will keep close to her

She is a sweet little girl who can be so shy

She received an award at school for Most Fashionable! She was so excited!!

I can't believe how fast the school year went but we are now ready for summer

Ready for the lazy days of crafts, cooking and exploring

Spending countless hours out in the splash pad making water cakes, pies and coffee

I'm ready, are you?

Here little fish

Kaiden's class has been learning about the ocean and ocean animals for the last month.

The kids have been taking care of a pool full of goldfish in the classroom and yesterday, they all brought a goldfish home!

See, they did give you the option of bringing a fish home.

You could send the little paper back with your child's name on it and the little "No" box checked.

Guess what kind of parent we would have been

How many kids' parents said no to the little slimy things that the kids have been feeding with so much enthusiasm every morning after calendar

A big fat ZERO!

We couldn't be THOSE parents who said no

Can you imagine little Snowball's face if she was the only one without a fish?

So, we said yes

After a trip to Petsmart for the essentials in keeping a goldfish, our free little fish has turned into a $50 endeavor.

We had to get him a tank, food, a little friend, a toy and bright, neon plants to make him feel at home

I'm just hoping these little $0.13 fish last longer than the weekend

and a big Thank You goes out to the teachers who thought up this wonderful unit

The Finger

Snowball has the smallest splinter in her middle finger and has refused to use that finger all weekend.

She has also refused to put that finger down.

She came to me in tears asking if she could stay home from school tomorrow.

I asked why and she said she doesn't want to get in trouble or sent to the principles office due to her middle finger being up.

Awe, that makes for a trip to CVS for an extra sharp and pointy pair of tweezers to get that bugger out.

Bridging

My two girls had their Girl Scout awards/bridging ceremony last night.

Before we started, the kids had a chance to play some games and guess who hit the jackpot?

Yeap, Sophie! 1000 tickets!!! Needless to say, she was very excited!

Then it was time to receive awards for all their hard work

Kaiden received quite a few patches. We are actually out of room on her vest so we will have to find a place to put all these!

Snowball still has another year of Daisies to look forward to!

Sophie also received a ton of patches. She is also out of room on her vest but we have a sash that we can add to...although I think that's almost full too

Luckily, Sophie bridged to the Junior level and will be receiving a green vest this summer!!

Bryson came along too and played tons of games with his favorite buddy...Shane!

Party Time

The day I have been planning for months has finally arrived

This past Saturday, we celebrated Bryson's 3rd Birthday with family and friends

We did an All American Vintage Baseball theme at a local park

We had all the staples found at a baseball game back in the '50's including hot dogs and cracker jacks

We even had an autograph station where all our guests could sign a Louisville Slugger for Bryson to remember his big day

The cake was a simple vanilla as requested by the birthday boy

The cupcakes were chocolate for our chocolate loving fans

Fresh strawberries and blueberries fit right in with our red, white and blue theme

You can't have vintage without Big League Chew and Licorice!

We also had a beverage and snack table with strawberry lemonade and strawberry/blueberry water

fresh roasted peanuts and buttery popcorn

Ice cold Coca-Cola

and ice cold red, white and blue soda!

All our fans were able to take home some souvenirs including mini bats, balls, bubbles and keychains

The park we were at has an amazing splash pad so the kids were able to run off some of the sugar

Bryson with his best bud from school, Wyatt

Bryson with his favorite girl from school...Sophia

Then it was finally time for cake!

then time to say good-bye to our friends

It sure was an exhausting day for the birthday boys

but so worth it for my little 3 year old!

Celebrating

It's a special day at the Wood house today

We are celebrating not just one but TWO birthdays today

It's my wonderful husbands birthday and our little man's birthday

Bryson was not only born on Kyle's birthday but also Mother's Day.

Bryson is definitely wrapped around his Daddy's little finger

Our little man has really grown up fast!

1 year old

He loves climbing on everything...still!

2 years old

Still loves firetrucks and tells me all the time that he's going to drive the big firetruck when he's taller

He also loves cars, trucks, motorcycles, trains, planes...anything that has wheels and moves

He can be the sweetest little boy who loves to cuddle

He hates being dirty

He also loves everything about Baseball and can't wait to join a team this fall

Kyle is one of the best dads around

He loves his kids so much!

The kids adore him as well

He even was a part of Sophie's dance one year...he did great!

He's excited that he can teach and share new experiences with the kids as they are getting older

He and my dad get along great!

and I'm kind of fond of him as well!

Happy Birthday to my favorite boys!
